Barry Wesley McConnell, of Waterloo, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Grand River Hospital in his 72nd year.
Born in Mount Forest, Barry enjoyed camping, travelling, and especially loved riding his Harley with the motorcycle club, the Royal City Riders. He loved watching NASCAR in person and at home with his wife, Wendy, before she passed away after her battle with cancer in 2022. Barry will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness, and his ability to talk to anyone.
Barry is survived by his son, Ryan (Cara); his grandson, Grant; and his beloved cat, Lucy. He is dearly missed by his brothers, Dale and Lyle, and his sister-in-law, Kim.
He was predeceased by his wife, Wendy; his brother, Richard; and his parents, Gladys and Wesley McConnell.
Cremation has taken place.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to both the Royal City Riders and Refrigerated Transport Service of Kitchener.
His friends at the Royal City Riders will be holding a memorial ride in his honour.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 655 Wabanaki Drive, Kitchener. Please bring your memories for the memorial book.
