In Loving Memory of Obiora “Obi” Okoye
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, father, uncle, and friend, Obiora “Obi” Okoye.
To know Obi was to know kindness. He had a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and seen. He carried himself with a quiet strength and gentle spirit, yet his presence filled every room. Obi was jovial and warm, always ready with a smile, a story, a laugh, or a thoughtful conversation. He genuinely cared about people and was always looking for ways to connect, support, and encourage those around him.
He leaves behind his daughter and son, his brothers and sister, extended family, and countless friends whose lives are richer because he was part of them.
Obi was predeceased by his beloved parents and by his son, Olisa, whose loss he carried in his heart. While we take comfort in imagining their reunion, we grieve the tremendous loss of a man whose love, compassion, and presence touched so many lives.
There are some people who pass through this world quietly, and there are others who leave an imprint on every heart they encounter. Obi was one of those people. His kindness will be remembered. His laughter will be missed. His friendship will be cherished. His love will endure.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the gift of having known him, loved him, and been loved by him.
Details regarding memorial arrangements and ways to honour Obi’s memory will be shared in the coming days. If you would like to receive this information, please send an email to obimemorial@gmail.com with your contact information.
We ask that you keep Obi’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
“Grief is the price we pay for love. And because Obi was loved so deeply, he will be missed beyond words. Though he is no longer beside us, he remains forever within us—in our memories, our stories, our laughter, and our hearts.”
