Vital passed away peacefully in his sleep at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener on August 16, 2026, at the age of 82.
Beloved husband of Eileen Courchesne and loving father of Brian (Janine). Cherished grandfather of Matthew (Megan), Brayden, and Reese, and proud great-grandfather of Carter and Mackenzie.
Vital will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Romeo, Georgette, Pauline (Richard), Cecile, Maurice (Anita), Marie, and Denise. He was predeceased by his parents, Lionel and Leona Courchesne, and his siblings Rachelle, Robert, Denis, and Paul. Vital will be greatly missed by his extended family and many friends.
Vital enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and playing snooker with friends at local community centres throughout Kitchener-Waterloo. He was also an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering on his Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs.
Family and friends are invited to join Vital’s family for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 143 Pugh Street, Milverton, Ontario.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the trauma nurses at Hamilton General Hospital and the fifth-floor nurses at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener for their care and compassion.
